Introducing WSEnterprise™

Wengert Software Engineering, Inc. (WSE) announces the release of WSEnterprise™, the fully functional and integrated inventory tracking system for retailers.

With WSEnterprise™, goods are tracked from the moment they arrive at the receiving area until such time as they are purchased by a customer at the checkout aisle. Each item is tracked by means of a bar code label, which is produced by WSEnterprise™ when an item is received. Using Intermec JANUS hand-held data collection computers, items are scanned each time they are received and placed into inventory. This can be in a local storage area or in the retail area itself. The JANUS units communicate in real-time with the WSEnterprise™ host system via radio frequency (RF), thereby allowing WSEnterprise™ to track the precise location of hundreds of thousands of items in a facility. When items are purchased by the customer, WSEnterprise™ receives feedback information from the cash register computer system and automatically decreases inventory for that item in real-time.

Running under Microsoft Windows, WSEnterprise™ provides an extremely powerful yet user-friendly interface to the inventory database. Users can view the contents of a warehouse bin location or retail shelf space simply by pointing and clicking with a mouse. All items at that location are then listed on the screen. In addition, search utilities are available to locate a single package anywhere in the warehouse or to show the total quantity of a particular item currently in stock.

The user can configure alarms to be generated automatically when inventory exceeds or drops below a given level. In addition, WSEnterprise™ can be configured to alarm if a perishable item has been stocked for longer than some preset time.

WSEnterprise™ can be interfaced to existing data processing computer systems and checkout register systems as required by the customer. The WSEnterprise™ database can be exported into many popular database and spreadsheet packages (e.g. Excel) for customers with their own in-house tracking systems. WSEnterprise™ can provide these systems with transactions describing the receipt or sale of an item. For example, when a customer checks out, WSEnterprise™ can generate a transaction describing which items were purchased. Wengert Software Engineering, Inc. will provide custom interface software and hardware when required by the customer's data processing system(s).
