Wengert Provides Automated Crane System at
United States Steel in Dravosburg, PA

Dravosburg, PA

Because of the recent success of Wengert's Bell Annealing Stack Builder (BASB) program, USS Irvin Works has selected WSE to provide an automated coil tracking system including MS Windows based crane terminals. These "Heads-Up" displays will allow the crane operators to track the set down/pick up operations for all coils. Functions are also being provided to mark coils as damaged or requiring other attention, as having been placed onto rail cars for shipment to batch annealing, or as having been sent to the continuous annealing line. In addition, the crane terminal will provide a birds-eye overview of the coil storage area depicting location and other inventory information. The crane terminal system complements the Bell Annealing Stack Builder program in that it provides inventory location information used by BASB when determining which coils to use for building a stack. Both systems are being fully integrated with USS' DEC Alpha based production tracking software.

WSEasy Building Inspection System
Online at The Diocese of Steubenville

Steubenville, OH

Wengert Software Engineering, Inc. has installed its customized route sales force automation system for use as a building inspection package. WSEasy will be used by inspectors to record condition of structures (e.g. roof, plumbing, siding, electrical) when they visit Diocesan properties during routine walk-thrus. All data collected on the HP 200 palmtop is then uploaded back to the Windows 95/98 host system which can then provide historical maintenance activity reports. Moreover, WSEasy can be used to schedule visits based upon last inspection date and interval.
