WSExpect Asset Management system goes online at Ketchum Directory Advertising

Wengert Software Engineering, Inc. has successfully installed its WSExpect Asset Management System for Ketchum Directory Advertising in downtown Pittsburgh, PA. The system will be used to track leased assets that are moved throughout the three floors of office space at Six PPG Place. Barcodes will be attached to each asset indicating the asset ID, description, lease vendor, and asset category (e.g. desktop computers, scanners, printers, etc). WSExpect uses the Intermec Norand 602 ruggedized palmtop computer with an integrated laser barcode scanner to capture asset inventories and movements. These transactions are uploaded to a desktop PC and stored into an Interbase Relational Database Management System. Reports allow the user to find the last known location of an asset, who placed it there and when it was placed. In addition, asset audit trail reports allow a user to see the entire movement history of any asset or any set of assets associated with a given vendor lease. This way, Ketchum can quickly locate all assets belonging to a given lease when that lease expires and then return these assets to the vendor. The system will be expanded to several other Ketchum locations nationwide after a pilot period here in Pittsburgh.
